This summer, the Toronto Transit Commission (TTC) hired six co-op students from Seneca Polytechnic’s Fire Protection Engineering Technology (FPE) program and two students from the Civil Engineering Technology (CVT) program as part of the TTC Student Programs.

On Aug. 24, the TTC held a student recognition event to celebrate and acknowledge the hard work, dedication and commitment demonstrated by the students who completed their co-op terms. Students were recognized for excelling in various aspects of their placements as well as making significant contributions in one or more of the following areas: Customer Service, Safety, Innovation & Creativity, Innovation & Sustainability, Leadership, Teamwork and Diversity.

During the event, EunChan Shin, a third year FPT student, was recognized by his manager for excelling in teamwork. Mr. Shin expressed his gratitude for the opportunity. "I believe that experience is an invaluable asset. The opportunities I have been granted through Seneca and the TTC have allowed me to work with and learn from great people. Achieving this award is not only about my effort but also about all the support I have received from my supervisor and colleagues,” he shared.

Congratulations Mr. Shin, you have made us #SenecaProud!
