On the second National Day for Truth and Reconciliation and Orange Shirt Day, the presidents of Confederation, Humber, and Seneca have signed a Letter of Intent that affirms the partnership to develop an Honours Bachelor of Indigenous Leadership and Community Development degree program.
This program will provide curriculum that supports Indigenous communities in their resurgence, resilience and capacity-building, maximizing the academic resources and specific program strengths at each institution.
Confederation, Humber and Seneca first announced the joint program in June 2021. Since then, a steering committee of Indigenous leads has been engaged in the development process. Learning objectives and courses have also been outlined and approved in principle through Confederation’s internal program development process.
The three institutions are working towards having first cohorts in the program beginning in September 2024.
