A team from the School of Human Resources and Global Business has been awarded a $30,000 research grant through a national competition.

The Wawanesa Climate Champions: Youth Innovation Grant is a joint initiative of Canadian Colleges for a Resilient Recovery and Wawanesa Insurance that recognizes young leaders who want to lead climate-related projects that will bring about real change in their communities.

Winners of the inaugural competition were announced April 22. The Seneca team that will receive funding consists of principal investigator Navdeep Singh and co-investigators Mohammad Bassim Faridy and Clarissa Getigan, working under the supervision of Dr. Juan Marcelo Gómez.

Their project will explore variable rate technology in agriculture, aiming to develop new methods to reduce carbon emissions while enhancing efficiency and profitability.
