Individual Student Travel

Seneca students seeking to travel individually for a Seneca activity (i.e., field placements, work integrated learning, competitions, etc.) must obtain special authorization from a signing authority, usually the Activity sponsor, within the program or department area.

Upon receiving approval to travel individually for a Seneca activity, travelers must complete the pre-departure requirements, at least 4 weeks prior to travel, as outlined by Seneca International.

More details

  • Seneca relies on the Government of Canada’s (GOC) Travel Advice and Advisories and the associated risk level for each destination to assess whether or not students should engage in an overseas activity. Travelers may only travel to a destination rated 'Green: Take normal security precautions' or 'Yellow: Exercise a high degree of caution' for a Seneca activity. Refer to the Risk Level of your destination for more information.
  • Students who do not complete Seneca's pre-departure requirements will not be granted approval to travel.
  • Travelers on a Seneca activity are subject to Seneca's policies including, but not limited to, Seneca's Student Code of Conduct.
  • Travelers planning to travel outside of Canada for a purpose other than a Seneca activity do so as private citizens. Such people are solely responsible for making their own travel arrangements and making their own decisions regarding personal safety.
