Certificate, diploma and graduate certificate programs — a minimum grade of “C” (60 per cent) is required for a course to be considered for transfer credit for most programs.
Degree programs — a minimum grade of “C+” (65 per cent) in a degree level course is required for a course to be considered for transfer credit for most programs.
A higher minimum grade may be required by certain programs.
Incoming courses are evaluated based on applicability to Seneca’s programs of study and on criteria related to content, learning outcomes, credit value and/or number of teaching hours. If required, and applicable, to the program of study, incoming courses will also be required to include practical and/or lab components.
Seneca reserves the right to limit the time for which a course is considered current and eligible for transfer credit. Such eligibility is determined by each faculty/program. For more details, refer to “Appendix B: Guidelines for Use in Making Life of a Credit Decisions” in the Transfer Credit Policy.
Programs in the Faculty of Applied Science & Engineering Technology require current knowledge and as such any incoming course that is more than five years old will not be granted transfer credit.

Some programs have additional policy requirements that restrict or limit transfer credit. These programs must follow a set of standards outlined by an accreditation body in order to deliver a specific credential or certification.
nursing degree (bridging) program: transfer credits, based on courses completed in a two-year Practical Nursing diploma program from an Ontario college, will not be granted for any courses in the nursing degree (bridging) program.
nursing graduate certificate programs: transfer credit will not be granted for any courses in nursing graduate certificate programs
